About Groundmaster

The history of Groundmaster goes back to the 1980’s. We had a large equine facility and our biggest headache was our stall floors. We had tried everything over the years, asphalt, rubber, packed clay, etc.. Our maintenance costs changed with each product but none were healthy and economical to maintain. We decided to try and design a floor for ourselves and possibly other horsemen.

First we set our ideal criteria: We needed a floor that -

« Was "One Piece" but light in weight

« Provided good drainage

« Could be quickly and easily disinfected

« Provide for the horse to be as close to a" natural footing" as possible- God did not design horses to be stalled on "soft and squishy" mats!

We spent endless hours and a great deal of money on our "project". Some pretty elaborate and funny floors were designed before we arrived at the present system.

After testing many prototypes we arrived at the proper resins that would stand up to the strength of a horse’s hoof. We have developed a floor that is extremely durable as long as the base behind it does not give. This is the reason we insist on talking to each installer. It is not difficult, it is just that many people have their own ideas about what a base should be and it may not be compatible with our product.

Since 1991 Groundmaster Stall Flooring has been a sponsor of the All-American Quarter Horse Races in Columbus, Ohio and many other horse activities.

As owners of both race and show horses we remain active in the "Horse World" and continually strive to grow both in our knowledge of horses and in their health.

We trust that you will find Groundmaster Stall Flooring to be as close to an ideal stall floor system as there is anywhere in the world, for you and your horses.
